Database Update and a few tweaks
I recently updated this site to a new version of Wordpress, the content management system that I use. Everything seems to be working fine but please drop me a line if you see any problems. I also tweaked the code so that the header displays properly in Internet Explorer.
Happy daguerreotyping!
Jonathan Danforth – Officially in the Daguerreotype Club
Charlie Schreiner over at newdags has added me to the Contemporary Daguerreotypist’s roll. I’m very honored to be included in a list along with big names such as Jerry Spagnoli, Mike Robinson, Charlie Schreiner, Irving Pobboravsky, and Mark Kessel.
Maybe we should all get matching jackets.
Maybe not.

Site Update: “FAQ” and “Products” Pages Added
Way up there in the header of the page are now two new links.
I receive a lot of e-mails asking about Daguerreotypes and I thought that I’d post some of the more frequently asked questions on a page all of their own.
I’ve also posted a Products page that will let you buy daguerreian wares directly from my site.
I love the e-mails so don’t stop sending them but check out the new pages for some good information.

Site update & Gallery News
My sister pointed out that my site was not particularly friendly to those of you using low-resolution monitors so I have redesigned elements of this site to be more friendly to visitors using 1024×768. I dropped off five brand new cased Daguerreotypes at Through This Lens Gallery today. Roylee, the owner, is planning to show them in January. The magazine article in CRAFT should be coming out around (more…)
shinyphotos.com – Same Great Content, Easier to Find!
After reports from users and visitors about the verbosity of my site’s name, I have splurged and purchased a new domain name: shinyphotos.com. Get it? I make photos and they’re shiny. Update your bookmarks!
