The 2008 Daguerreian Society Symposium
I will be attending my first Daguerreian Society Symposium this year. The event will be held this year in Washington, DC USA. I have heard nothing but positive reviews of this event and I know several people attending. Being that daguerreotypes are fairly niche, this symposium is a rare treat to meet with like-minded people. The symposium is November 6-9, 2008.
The society seems mostly interested with history and preservation and less on current practice but there is always a contingent of daguerreotypists present. It will be nice to put faces to names!
While you’re in DC, be sure to check out the no-doubt seldom-visted Daguerre Memorial near the national portrait gallery at F and 7th streets.
