New Commissions and Shiny New Plates

5-23-2006

I’ve been on Daguerreian hiatus for a few weeks. I ordered a dozen new Daguerreotype plates including two full-plates from my plater and they’ll be here tomorrow. Kaden will be sending me the first of his sculptures to photograph in a few weeks for our collaborative and I’ve very excited to get to play with it!

I want to thank all of you who have commissioned artwork, restorations, and cases from me recently. I intend to make all-things-Daguerreian a full-time occupation in the future and it’s very encouraging to read your kind words and deposit your fine checks! I’m currently working on a 1/6th plate tintype restoration and custom leather case. I’ll have a photo up of the case and the image (pending approval from the client) in the gallery section soon. I’ve also been commissioned recently to make a 4×5″ Daguerreotype of a tobacco barn and a 4×5″ Daguerreotype of Johnny-Jump-Up Violets in bloom. I can’t wait to get started!

Thanks, and Keep the commissions coming!
