I’m in the Durham Herald-Sun
4-15-2006
I was featured in the Durham Herald-Sun last Sunday. The article was an introduction to the Daguerreotype process and some insight into my weird thought process. The author of the article and the photographer spent several hours with me while I made a Daguerreotype that ultimately failed to work like I hoped. Halfway through an 80 minute exposure, something jostled the setup and blurred my subject. It’s frustrating too because the exposure was *perfect*! I extend my thanks to the journalist for her kind words and to the photographer for his flattering photos. I am trying to get the people at the newspaper to agree to let me host a PDF of the article on my site. Stay-tuned. For now, check out the link above (as long as it lasts)
I made a really cool Daguerreotype today of seashells. The shells (bivalves) are really sweet and I’m happy with the result. That Daguerreotype and two others are currently up for sale on eBay, check ‘em out!.
I have several custom cases to finish up this week for a client so the Daguerreotype shoppe is closed for the next week or so.
