The Daguerreotype: Contemporary work by Jonathan Danforth

I have added a Links page to the site so that you can contact some of the companies that cater to my Daugerreotype needs and see some of the people and things that interest me.

I have been busy making cases for the past week and experimenting with silver electroplating. The electroplating did not go very well but I’m pretty sure I know what went wrong. I don’t know if I will try again to plate my own silver, I always swore that I wouldn’t. Electroplating seems so easy on the fundamental level but, like the Daguerreotype, it’s harder than it sounds.

I have assembled substantial parts of the camera for the Grand Project. I sincerely hope that the camera works better than my electroplating experiment!
