A new studio in the works?
11/16/2004 1:54PM:
After a long time without picking up a camera, I finally got around to working on some things. My son’s baptism was last weekend so I broke out the old Mamiya for the day. I still haven’t developed the rolls but I’ll get there… eventually.
I was in Brevard, North Carolina for the past four days on a business retreat. I brought the Mamiya with me but didn’t even have a chance to shoot anything.
Last night, I laid out the groundwork for my new darkroom / workshop. I’m planning a sixteen by twenty foot structure with an eight by sixteen foot darkroom space and a twelve by sixteen workshop / studio space. Many photographers will tell you that the hardest part about professional photography is rarely the photography itself; I’m elbow-deep in a book on basic framing for residential home construction which will surely lead into books on plumbing, electricity, and first aid. Should any of you know anybody that might exchange construction assistance for fine prints, stereo equipment, or programming, please do drop me a line.
